Always an Islander

No longer on an island but always an islander nonetheless…

I’ve been in Edinburgh just over a week now - yes, I got accepted onto the course I mentioned in my last post!

The move has been a very long time coming. If you’ve been following my writing for a little while then you’ll know all about my restlessness and intuitive knowing of an impending but uncertain massive life change! Uncertainty as to the result of it all is still there, and of course, with any leap of faith, a creative one particularly, uncertainty is the only way.

The course is an MFA at Edinburgh College of Art called Art, Space & Nature. The multidisciplinary practice and focus on the environment spoke to me pretty strongly. I see it as a way to bring together my interests in writing, making, photography and connection with nature. I don’t have too much to say about it at the moment as we only begin officially tomorrow, and I don’t want to overthink or assume I know exactly what to expect. So, until we get underway and there’s more detail to give, I think I will leave you with a few photos of my explorations of my new location…
